Edward Murray’s studio is in the grounds of Waterperry estate, Oxfordshire, producing small foundry bronzes. He worked for 5 years for a bronze caster in Suffolk and has taught both adults (Art Accademy, London) and Children (St. James Independent Junior School, London).

The journey of his work has all been towards the ancient lost wax bronze casting process, in all its significance and drama – clay, sand, plaster, fire, metal. Tactility, ritual, jeopardy, and finally lasting presence. The medium naturally elicits consideration and respect as the culmination of the creative process.

Modelling  in wax, plasteline and clay – the physicality supports a deep connection which is endlessly satisfying to explore, discover and refine.

Ed particularly enjoys working on commissions. It’s about connecting with a client and producing an original piece that is unique, which has personal meaning for them. An expression of a shared vision, enabling that meaning to be shared and considered anew.

His studio is all set up in action, and he’s continuing to build and grow his practice – the foundry, for casting on-ste – is being built right now!

Do drop Ed a line, he’d love to share his passion for sculpture and bronze casting!
